Abstract:

The caloric value of mangrove orsans, the standing crop of energy, the net energy production and the photosythetically active radiation (PAR) effiCiency of the mangrove conunities at the Pearl River-Mouth are studied in this paper. The following findings are obtained: 1) The Caloric value of mangrove organs is 16.84~20.48kJ·g-1,and 18.55kJ·g-1 on average; 2) The shoding crop of energy of the mangrove communities is 154076~176099kJ·m-2,and 171224kJ·m-2 on average; 3) The net energy Production of the communities is 30380~41394kJ·m-2·a-1,and 36243kJ·m-2·a-1 on average, which is higher than that of the tropical rain forest and the savanna; 4) The utilization ratio of the PAR is 1.83% in sixteen-year-old and 1.38% in eleven-year-old Aegileras corniculatus community,1.38% in fifteen-year-old Kandelia candel conununity and 1.54% in twenty-year-old Aegiceras corniculatus-Ayucebue narina-Jabdelia candel community.
