Thinking on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area

Abstract: Several key points on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (Hereinafter the Bay Area for short) are put forward: 1) the keywords should be “Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao”, rather than “bay area”; 2) the core objective of the planning for the Bay area would be to deepen the cooperation among the three places, to maintain the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong and Macao under the “one country, two systems” policy, and to enhance the status and function of these regions in the national economic development and opening to the outside world; 3) the mission and role of the Bay Area should be recognized in the framework of the global pattern-national strategy-local capacity; 4) the Bay Area Planning should promote advantage integration, collaborative striving and co-creation.
