Abstract: According to the natural conditions and economic characteristics in the western Hainan Island,the paper pointsoat the favourable factors to develop livestock(cattle breeding) in this area as fallows:1.Rich in resource of grassland;2.possible technically for the reformation of grassland;3.Convenient to land and water communication;4.Broad domestic and foreign markets.
